Aquariums For Beginners
If you have decided to start keeping an aquarium, you can be sure it is a great idea. Fish tanks and larger marine aquariums add life to any room they are put in. They attract attention and if you decorate them well, you will want to stare at them for hours.
You may think that aquariums actually require some water, plants and fish, and in general are low maintenance, but this is not exactly true. There is more to the equipment you need in a an aquarium and of course to occasionally clean it. Before you begin decide what kind of fish you want to keep – does it live in salt water or it is ok with freshwater. According to plumbers in London this will determine what tank you should buy. For marine aquariums (those with salt water) you need twice as big – around 20 gallons and for fresh water tanks around 10 gallons. Bust still ask at the pet store for more information and just to make sure. Don’t put too much fish in a smaller tank, even if it is filled with fresh water. When you have filled the water check for leakages before adding the rest of the equipment. If the tank is not leaking, proceed with adding the gravel. Every aquarium needs gravel as it gives it a finished look. Choose a good quality gravel and “plant” plants in it. They will make your aquarium look more exotic and will provide a hiding place for your fish – you know they also like their privacy!
According to electricians London lighting is also important for fish. If you get a luminescent lamp or one that has a high CRI (comes close to natural sunlight), you will have more success and will make your fish happy.
Hopefully, this was helpful remember these are just some of the basics, you will need to do more research and especially to determine what are the needs of your particular fish species.
